The story
Sometimes all it takes is a simple meeting to give birth to beautiful things.
In 2020, we met a Lyon-based start-up, Ictyos, with whom we share the same values.
Specializing in marine leather, they transform fish skins destined to become waste, into a precious raw material.
After a successful and landmark first collection, we’re going one step further with a bracelet designed for the Apple Watch Ultra, Odyssée.
Rest assured, it remains compatible with all Apple Watch series.
This time it’s a salmon leather, with four classic colors from a virtually infinite range: Amber, Obsidian, Crystal and Circe Blue.
To match this leather, we’ve added our Art Nouveau buckle, with its arabesque curves.
It’s reminiscent of the Greek letter Omega, a symbol of the end, but above all of renewal.
A bit like marine leather, to which we give a second life.
When you turn to this collection, you can be sure of choosing a bracelet that reflects your image, crafted in noble leather with a unique motif drawn by nature.
For us, that’s modernity, looking to an eco-responsible future and meeting the needs of tomorrow.
Origin
To guarantee the highest quality marine leathers, Ictyos selects the finest fish skins from its French agri-food partners and always favors a short circuit, respecting the environment by limiting its carbon footprint as much as possible.
Through this action, the entire industry is encouraged to improve its practices:
- To obtain the best leathers, the animals must be given enough space,
- They need to live long enough to reach sufficient size,
- The creation of waste is limited.
Today, 50 tonnes of fish skins are thrown away every year in France.
The Odyssée collection is made from salmon leather, known for its suppleness, strength and fine, even grain.
It is obtained by vegetable tanning to make the leather eternal and prevent it from naturally degrading over time.
This tanning method, one of the most appreciated by enthusiasts, also helps protect your skin against any allergies.
